I am a voice teacher at KPCA and every single one of our voice students has a copy of this fantastic book! It is a wonderful resource for voice/music teachers and singers. I love hearing about students teaching and singing the songs in cannon with their family and friends. I only wish it were spiral bound, but it's worth a trip to the printers to pay the $4 to get it bound so that it lays flat.

Educators talk about kids "Allstar books". This was my 2nd graders Allstar book. I was worried about the 3rd grade shift from learning to read to reading to learn next year. This book transitioned her to the impassioned reader I always hoped shed grow into. Probably shaped my kid's future academic career more than anything to this point. In addition it's a sweet series :)

Part 3 asks the question "Who Are Christians?" and then answers it by discussing misconceptions of what it means to be a true Christian, how to truly fall more in love with Him, and how to see people through His eyes.

Part 4 wraps it up with the question "Who Am I Created to Be" as it teaches girls how to live out His vision for their lives and experience true freedom, joy, and adventure.

Although God can use this book to impact teenage girls when it’s read on their own, Borrowing God’s Glasses is also designed for small group study, grades 6-12. Each of the 18 chapters is followed by a scripture verse for memorization and reflection questions for group discussion. In addition, the appendix is a wealth of small group materials, encouraging group leaders and providing practical tools for using this book to best impact teenage girls’ lives. Included are extra group activities pertaining to each chapter, a basic outline giving a detailed breakdown of a small group time, and two pages that may be copied and used as needed―a weekly update (accountability sheet), and a page for keeping track of the prayer needs of the girls in the group.

About the Author
Lacei Grabill has been involved in youth ministry for the past 15 years. She has taught in the public schools, been a missionary to youth overseas, and led middle school and high school small groups. She is passionate about pouring into the lives of students.

Lacei and her husband, Keith, are currently the youth pastors at Christian Celebration Center in Midland, Michigan. She enjoys going on dates with her husband, spending time with her 3 children, writing, and eating ice cream.

Who should Borrow God's glasses?

I received this book as a gift from a friend and read it this summer. I could not put it down. The chapters were easy to read and each one had important scripture based life lessons. At the end of each chapter is a scripture reference and then reflection questions for girls to respond to and share in a small group setting. Borrowing God's Glasses also teaches you how to set up an all girls small group. There are extra ideas each chapter for group leaders to do during their meeting time. This book is an excellent tool for any church all girl small group to use to ensure bringing up biblically strong women for the Kingdom of God. I highly recommend it to any parent, youth leader, or church small group.

About the Author
Francis La Flesche, born about 1857, was the son of Estamaza, or "Chief Joseph" La Flesche, himself the son of a French trader and an Omaha mother In a lifetime devoted to the study of his people and their customs, Francis La Flesche achieved great distinction as a scientist and scholar, his most important work being two great series of studies on the Omaha and Osage tribes.



The foreword, written by David A. Baerreis, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin, sketches the life and career of Francis La Flesche and gives background information on the Omaha tribe and the teaching in the mission schools of the period.

Scholarly Treatise on the Omaha Tribe

Do not expect a riveting plot or quick reading. This is a mini encyclopedia of the culture of the Omaha tribe, and as such, it is excellent. It also compares the customs, language and ceremonies of other closely related tribes. Though small, it is an excellent reference book.

EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED

I have not read either volumen I or volumen II yet but it is exactly what I expected: a deep study in the Omaha tribe (religion, culture) and I'm sure it will be interesting and I will enjoy it.
Moreover, even if I finally don't like it too much, it is exactly what I expected and what I was looking for. Expectations have been fully met with both books.
