Lili- a most memorable read, not to be missed!!

The book portrays the fascinating story of a unique affinity between a true ascetic called Adon, and Lili, a young prostitute, who crosses his life through unexpected circumstances. Through this story one is familiarized with the heart captivating, humane landscapes of the city of Jaffa. This is a great, wonderful book for many reasons, the most significant reason for me, is the complete utmost love and compassion the author holds for his characters, devoid of any hypocritical moral judgment, whether it is a hopeless chronic drunk, a cold, cruel abusing pimp, a betrayed husband going through a violent fit, and a gallery of other human beings facing themselves and their weaknesses. Even when everyone of them meets his lowest degrading point in his life, one can not help but feel the compassionate forgiving eyes of the author, who watches and describes them, and always finds some kind of strong point of positivity and hope in them. The book is far from sugarcoating the lives described in it, especially the tough life and circumstances Lily was facing throughout the book. However, a pure strong core of loyalty, love, devotion, and great courage remains unharmed in her heart, and ends up finding its way, to where it has always belonged.
This book is recommended with all of my heart.

One of the most fascinating novels I have ever read. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

I got immediately swept away by Lili into an exciting plot full of suspense in the bizarre human landscapes of Jaffa not so long ago and into a pure love which is both wonderful and exceptional. I went deep into the fantastic characters, absorbed the special atmosphere of the book and its poignant social message. The point of view of the believer enlightened every page all along.
One of the most fascinating novels I have ever read. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

A novel of unconventional plot and characters. provoking thought and feelings.

An innocent prostitute lands from a murky world of menace into a relationship with an ascetic of untainted purity. I love how this purity reigns throughout the suspenseful plot and from which point of view presents the dynamics of many different characters leading to unexpected conclusions.
This is a wonderful book, written in a sensitive yet realistic way. The depiction of the images is very human on the background of a multicolored city laden with abundance of human experiences as Jaffa.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and warmly recommend it.

Simply Amazing...

Christine Caine, is just an amazing speaker and she's just proven with this book that she is just as effective on paper. In this book she not only gives detailed examples from her own life but she illustrates biblically how women of the faith Can have it all and Do it All. We need to have purpose, learn to endure, stand on God's word and learn that to have and Do it all, we must be aligned with God's purpose for our lives.
A great read, that I will be rereading AGAIN,as its applicable to us single ladies and (will use when I'm finally married :)so many fundamental and practical truths I need to remind myself of,

Worth every penny!!

Encouraging Content, Book Poorly Made

The content of this book is insightful and encouraging. Christine presents Biblical principles with real life humor and application. I read it with a ladies group and we all enjoyed our discussions about each chapter. However, the book itself was falling apart by chapter 4 or 5...I believe all 10 books lost pages...so that was disappointing.

This book is amazing on so many levels! I'm a mom, homeschool teacher, wife, lead worshiper, and "wear many other hats". This book spoke to so many areas of my life!
One example: I've been married for 15 years, and have read blogs, books, webpages on marriage. I've watched videos and been to an actual marriage weekend renewal-type thing. But, the dating and marriage advice in this book is the BEST I've ever come across, and in just a small chapter.

The best WWII fighter book I've seen. Top notch writing and photos, with outstanding color plates!!!!
You will be please with the information on each aircraft model represented, and the photos of each is just the BEST EVER!!
The technical data on colors is also very good! Great book for the WWII "Finnish" enthusiast and the modeler also.

Finns Fighting Russians

Finlands World War II history is different from that of the rest of the world. The war began for them when they were invaded by the Soviet Union in 1939. This aspect of the war -- called the Winter War in Finland was then followed by the Continuation War when Finland in turn invaded Russia just after the German invasion in 1941.

As a small country, Finland did not build its own aircraft. They purchased a broad range of planes from England, France, Italy, Germany and the United States. And it is really strange to my eyes to see the Brewster Buffalo (B-239 - the export designation) marked with the German Swastika -- Finland as on the German during this part of the war.

The most effective Finish fighters were the French Moranee-Saulnier MS-406 and the American Brewsters. Both of these planes did much better service in Finish service than in French or American use. Part of this was due to modifications made by the Fins -- more horsepower, better guns, perhaps pilots that were somewhat more desperate.

This books title says that it is on the colors of the Finnish fighters, and to an extent that is true. But it also has a lot of information about the planes and their use against the Russians. The Russian planes they were fighting often turned out to be British Hurricanes or American Aircobras or Tomahawks.

I wish I could have given this more than five stars, @&%$! it! The colored illustrations were large and easy on the eyes while showing the subtle variances from plane to plane of the overmatched Finns. I have ordered the rest of this series based on my enthusiasm for this first of the lot.

Learning Word is fun now

I've never taken a class for this and need to make a bulletin for a non-profit organization and have used this a LOT! You don't have to read it through consecutively to get info. In fact, the intro says you can look at the parts you are interested in and don't have to have read the earlier ones. I do use some for basic info NOW but am reading it through just to make sure I don't lose any little tidbit that I can use.

As with all the Dummies books, it's cleverly written with wit and easy to find info with the layout and diagrams.

A Great Starter Book

When I was first confronted with Word 2013, my first thought was "Oh no, now what." I tried another book, but that was worse than Greek to me. I've always had good luck with "Dummies" books, and this was no different. Dan is a very clear writer. He walks you right through it. I recommend this to anyone as muddled as I was.

Mary Queen of Scots meets the Campbell's pagan bride.

This is the tale of a young woman with the Sight meets her promised husband (they were wed when he was fifteen and she five). The author manages to include some of the political activists of the day, the Earl of Huntly (Avril's brother), the Earl of Moray (Queen Mary's illegitimate brother, and Lord Charles Darnley (Queen Mary's suitor). She uses Avril's gift to illustrate the political climate that surrounded the Queen and to portray the characters played major roles in the Queen Mary's life and demise. This is more of a thumbnail sketch of people in Scottish history, it does have some romantic parts. While it can be said that more fleshing out of the characters with their plots and court intrigues if this were a historical novel but suits well the limitations of a novella.

Did not deliver...

This tale did not deliver a coherent tale. It was disjointed and the story cliched in areas. I read it all the way through, and can honestly say that it lacked dynamic characters, developed characters, and an engaging storyline. I felt that the author sought characters in history and placed them in the story to give a time-frame only. There really was no point to it all and I do not recommend it at all; save your money!

So not what I was expecting

I went into it thinking there would be more...nope. Just didn't happen. It fell flat for me and had a very sudden ending. I just wanted more flesh to the entire story.
